In 'A NEW DAY' it was mention that there has been some guitar changes.
A recent picture of Ian shows him playing a Guld acoustic. After all
these years he's putting the Martin-0016NY in the closet. I wonder if
Barre has put down the Hamer?

Here is Rocks On The Road. Ian is notorious for capo on 3rd fret and
does it once more. Why the 3rd fret? Well his voice is relax in this
range. I notice on the last tour he moved Mother Goose from the 5th
fret to the 3rd. Also the flute is easier to play in the keys of C
and F.

In this song play the Cm just above the capo as if you were playing an
Am on an open guitar on frets 1 & 2. Play Bb as a G, Fm as a Dm, and
Ab as F. When playing the Cm hammer your fingers on the 3rd and 4th
strings seprately.

Hello,
I thought you might like to correct some of the lyrics you have wrong for
"Rocks on the Road".

There's a black cat down on the quayside
Ships lights, green eyes glowing in the dark
Two young cops handing out a beating
Know how to hurt and leave no mark
Well down in the half lit bar of the hotel
There's a call for the last round of the day
Push back my stool, take that elevator ride
Fall in bed and kick my shoes away

Can't sleep through the wild sound of the city
Hear a car full of young boys heading for a fight
Long distance telephone keeps ringing out engaged
Wonder who your talking with tonight

Tired plumbing wakes me in the morning
Shower runs hot runs cold playing with me
I'm up for the downside, lifes a bitch and all that stuff
So come and shake some apples from my tree

Had to pay for my minibar madness
Itemized phone bill overload
Well now, how about some heavy rolling?
Move these rocks on the road

Crumbs on the breakfast table
And a million other little things to spoil my day
How about a little light music
To chase it all away

Hope this is of some help. (Your web page is excellent)
Good Luck,
David Burrows. 1
